Christian Counseling Overview

The primary benefits of Christian Counseling goes far beyond the individual talents of the counselor. The Gifts and Fruit of the Holy Spirit are central to the restoration process. It confirms God’s promise to “lead us into all truth”, even to make clear the path to personal victory. It employs not merely a form of Godliness but the power thereof. It is more thorough, more comprehensive, more powerful, and more permanent than any secular therapy can be. Counseling becomes awesome, precise and powerful when dependent the leading and power of God’s Living Word.

Christian_Counselor_Bob_ThomasBob Thomas has counseled for many years; earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1964; served in numerous leadership capacities crossing diverse denominational lines; and grown substantially in his understanding of the awesome power of God when we are devoted to Him in Spirit and Truth. He has cultivated a primary anointing of God to serve as a counselor dependent on the leading of the Holy Spirit. Bob states, “The unique counseling process is a ‘pearl of great price.’ I am eager to share it and claim victory with many to the glory of God in the name of Jesus Christ.”

This simple and powerful process is effective for all varieties of mental, emotional physical and spiritual challenges. There are none  too large, too complex, or too numerous. If we are willing, God is able to lead us in all that is essential to attain the Godly standards in every aspect of Life. We demonstrate greater peace and joy as God’s anointing allows us to bear more of the Fruit of the Spirit and serve more fully in the Gifts of the Spirit.

The Process

The counseling experience is gentle and powerful. It allows for sharing with ease and without concern for being judged. As the initial concerns are articulated, it provides what we might liken to a preliminary x-ray.

Eventually it is possible to identify with sufficiency the deepest and most complex mental, emotional, and spiritual entanglements. These are conditions of the heart, mind and soul. Unless these are changed, there is no lasting change.

These are the “rocks, thorns and weeds” that stand in the way of the fullness and fruitfulness of the Life that God has promised.

Without such a thorough, God inspired and God empowered, process most therapies are limited, cosmetic, extremely time consuming and costly .

The net end result is a conspicuous evidence of a newness of life. It cultivates a fuller manifestation of “Christ in you, your hope of glory”;or, as the Apostle Paul has stated, “Christ being formed in you”. It is one further step in the process of “sanctification” to allow for the fullness of True Life to prevail.

 The Difference

 Why settle for less?

-> Expedite the process-> Get to the root causes-> Be thorough-> Provide long lasting results

Secular counseling cannot accomplish this, because it neglects the consideration of the spiritual components. The life challenges that we face cannot be compartmentalized into mental or emotional or spiritual. They are all inter-connected. All of these must be considered along with the the fleshly and worldly influences.

Most other Christian counseling is either very secular at its foundation [psychology or psychiatry, with Christian frosting, or relies singularly on the written Word of God and somehow neglects the activity of the Spirit of God, which is the Living Word of God, to allow for the deepest insight and the most powerful resolve.
